Where I went #
After the massive day visiting Wat Phu Tok, Wat Tham Chaimongkol (plus the fantastic lunch at Home Bueng Khlong and eventually Three Whale Rock earlier in the day, I was spent!
I contemplated visiting the Beung Kan night market again, but as incredible as the food was, it was missing three critical requirements:
- Air conditioning
- Cold beer
- Formula 1 Qualifying at Monaco
Riverside Bar is a great-looking restaurant, located directly opposite the Night markets, on the banks of the Mekong River. There was an outdoor beer garden, with live music, as well as a well appointed inside dining area.
What I liked #
- Stylish café in a great location, standing out from its neighbours
- Massive menu, offering all sorts of tasty options from the region
- Super friendly staff (even turning off the football, to allow me to watch the Formula 1 😄 )
What I ate #
Entrée of Issan sausages and a Jungle Curry main dish (and many, many beers)
The Issan sausage was nice, good flavour and a simple mildly spicy sauce. The green curry was more of a soup, but full of flavour (and more than what 1 person could eat!)
The three dishes came to about 300 baht
